On another note, is there anybody who thinks counselling ever helps? Or is it just delaying the problem?

not in our case

We tried marriage counselling about 2 years ago for 3 months and wouldn't recommend the one we went to. Can't post the name but it was in Tanglin Shopping Centre. They key is whether you are lucky enough to find a counselor that really fits you and your spouse.
In our case, the core problem wasn't addressed and things only seemed to have improved for 2 months or so and then life went back to what it was before.
Unfortunately we are divorcing but at least on a very amicable note. We both know we tried everything we can, so have no regrets. No regrets on having married each other, the years we spent with each other, and on having tried counseling. Unfortunately sometimes things just don't work out in life and the best thing you can do for yourself and your spouse is to move on and the best possible way is without hating each other.
The best of luck to you.

Care and counseling centre, google it. Good luck, some people find counseling helpful and some do not, only by trying will you find out. I hope it works out.
