Does anybody knows why there is no competition Vs. SQ on SG-LAX ?
There is no more direct economy flight... the flights through Tokyo are a pain... via HK is slightly better but still a pain... I don't think my family and I will stay in Singapore much longer, the traveling back home is too difficult now.

Not only there is no more direct economy flights but the biz class is ridiculously expensive... SQ is still charging 3 times what it was in 2002/2003 for biz class seats...

Haven't tried that route yet but roughly how much do they charge?

IMHO Sin - Syd route is quite expensive too compared to other airliners.

Sing-LAX biz class (no economy class) is sgd 9,150 ... completely out of control no ? On personal account there is no way and even the company I work for would not authorize such a fare.

Believe it or not I have seen it as high as S$12k for last minute booking on the LAX non-stop.

Either way, whether its S$9,150 or S$12,000 is academic when you can fly United Business for below S$3,000. SQ are good but not 3 x or 4 x better...
