Are there any medical insurances in Singapore covering regular doctor visits, medication etc? So far I only came across ones where you don't get value for money. I find USD 2,200.00 / year a lot for a medical insurance not covering regular medical expenses. Thanks for your advice!

AXA has a rider to cover doctor's visits but you need to be on their normal plan.

I was shocked that most companies don't cover GST as part of their plan. I was hit with a very heft bill after an operation, but not as bad as a colleague who had a heart bypass and was then hit with a bill for thousands as the medical insurance company didn't cover the GST.

about the same as you and does not cover gp visits.
I can get that covered but the increase in premium is not worth it - i have been here 11 years and never visited a gp.
However it has paid out without question on two surgeries...

It works differently than at home.  Here you pay the bill and make the claim afterwards - presumably your company will know whether or not they will accept Singapore invoices?   Ours did because the cost was about 30% of that at home, but it was a special expatriate policy with the same company.

I presume your HR will sort this out for you?

My company had its own private insuarance plan. Unfortunately what it doesn't specify (or maybe I missed it) is that once you leave the company no claims are processed...of course thats logical but somewhat illogically is that any fees incurred prior to leaving the company are not processed either . Yikes !
