Hi Im moving to Singapore and applying for some event management positions all of with ask what I expect as a salary.  I know what Iwould expect in the UK but no idea about singapore.  What kind of salary is available there for this kind of work?

Depends on what degree you have and what languages you speak.  Relevant degree and Mandarin/ASEAN languages probably looking at $3.0 - $3.5K

According to a recent survey, an event manager with around 5 years of experience gets between SGD$45-70K a year in Singapore.

Hi,

Yep, that's abt right.

But really depends on what you specialize in.

Also, depends on what sort of company you want to work for..there are many smallish but good event cos, that dont pay alot cos most of them are working with very small teams?

When do you intend to some to spore to work? That might make a difference as well.

If you are working for a large international company as a senior manager you can command the wages noted above. If you are in the trenches in a smaller local company then expect a lot less, especially in this market. Event companies here are notorious for not receiving full payment for services rendered and some event budgets are just ridiculous to be frank. My experience is as a creative consultant in this field and it was a couple of years ago, so maybe things have improved.
