I am planning to make kerabu beehoon this weekend - a Malaysian vermicelli dish. The recipe calls for ginger buds...any idea where to get this?

It's also used for Penang laksas...

Thanks!

I've bought them in Tekka Market (Little India), but I've seen them in other places as well. Try your local wet market first.

If you haven't bought them before, it might be helpful to know it's a pale pink, fleshy, torchlike flower bud, about 10cm long. You should be able to find a picture in google images.

They are sold with the vegetables, not the flowers!

NTUC sells it too, but they don't carry a lot so if someone swipes it first you're outta luck. But the wet markets definitely have fresher and so much more aromatic stock.
