I've already given lots of info - for the finer details, you really need to ask the HR of the A*star institute you are thinking of joining.  They will advise you further on their bonus policy and such.

Hi! Experts,
I am planning for Postdoc postion @ A*STAR, Biopolish.
Any Idea how much the Postdoc selery and rent/other allowances.
I am from midland US and I have previous three years experience too.

hey Hau, did you recieve any replies with any exact amounts?
I know of a friend who started at Bioplois for around S$6000 a month plus 1 month's bonus and good medical insurance.
Let me know what you get offered. Interested to know. My friend was asked how much was expected and he didn't quote a specific amount but gave his then salary in NZ. He got offered something equal to that, but
with good mediacl insurance. he had abou 2 years post doc experience.

Can anyone tell me whether my friend's package is a good/bad one, given that it is Biopolis, please?

At my husband's institute, the bonuses aren't up for negotiation.  They're based on your performance and the economy's performance.  They can range from 1-3 months salary.  Unlike banking, you don't get a bonus just for turning up to work,

I've been told the salary for post-docs is a firm $5.5K - this was 3-4 years ago and probably has increased to $6K since. Looks like all they did was reapportion that base pay to give you a housing allowance. Suggest that you get it all as salary instead, since your bonus is based on salary.
