my kid cant eat wheat. What I want to know is, do tasty wheat free breads exist in singapore? I've tried baking the Orgran gluten free bread at home, yuk!

Also, what kind of things can I pack for his school lunch?

What about corn tortilla wraps?  They can have various fillings, chicken, salad, tuna.  Lots of kids like those.  Make some savoury muffins with rice flour.  Dips with rice crackers.  Sushi.  There are lots of alternatives to bread.

My kids cannot tolerate wheat either, and I bake them bread, pizzas, pancakes, cakes etc. using spelt flour. You get nice wholemeal spelt (German: Dinkel) flour at the German Market on Bukit Timah Road (next to Coronation Plaza). They will get the refined spelt flour at the end of this month. It is so delicious and you cannot taste any difference to wheat. The wholemeal flour is a bit more rustic. Have fun baking!

As wheat is a gluten-containing cereal you could follow gluten-free suggestions for your kid's lunches.

Try googling "gluten-free school lunches". You'll find a bit of discussion about the US school lunch program but alongside some very useful websites and blogs.

"Gluten-free mom", in particular, is very helpful, and the gluten-free forum on About.com

You could also search "wheat-free school lunches".

Within this board you can search "gluten" and find lots of tips about where to buy GF items.

Good luck!
