Hello,

I am looking to apply for a teaching job at one of the International Schools in Singapore for next August. I would be planning to move out from the UK with my Boyfriend. Please can anyone tell me what would happen regard a visa for him?

Many thanks,

Kara

He would only get a SVP, maybe an LTSVP but no more.  Full details on the IDA website

If he's English, he'll get a 3 month visa on arrival at Changi. This doesn't entitle him to work though. Or, as pp said, he can apply for a long term social visitors pass which I think lasts a year.

I relocated months ago folowing my GF as a dependent, which I am allowed to stay here as long as my GF's work pass valid.

At first, I was offered LTSVP by the company but we provide the proofs(joint bank account, home loan and so on) we are in a relationship and have been together for 5 years. As a result, I am offered a dependent pass making my life easier but I am having a hard time getting a job still because of the high unemployment rate and I don't have solid big corp. work experience.

So,you should find doc. supporting your relationship and apply for DP.If there isnone, LTSVP would be the choice.

Good luck

Your employer needs to sponsor a LTVP linked to your EP.

The LTVP does not entitle him to work.

Depending on your nationality, you may need supporting documentation to testify you are in a common law defacto relationship recognised by your home country. As a minimum, a stat dec from you stating he is your defacto is required.
