Kindergarten - local or Intl ?

would you mind sharing where you send your child? my older one spent his kindergarten years in germany and we're now looking for something similar to my younger one. we're not keen on GESS for exactly the same reasons you mentioned, and well, the fees, too.

Isn't white lodge international school? if so why are the spoken language not good. That worries me as i was planning to school my chidren there as we live at Mat Jambol.

i believe that spoken English is bad in the local schools(maybe not all) and in some international schools too (I remember walking into a classroom @ white lodge, the children and worst of all the teachers were speaking in bad English!!) poor children

White Lodge is not an international school.  It is a kindergarten where a lot of children from different nationalities attend.  They hire local teachers but there are a couple of expats teaching as well.  I can understand the teachers English for the most part but I can see that some might have problems with a bit of Singlish.  I have to agree with some other poster when it was asked what is the problem with Singlish? Unless you are Singaporean yourself and do speak Singlish all the time to your kids its effect will be minimal.

Well i guess there are parent who are really not happy with white lodge. I am also amused.

As I posted on the other thread: I think White Lodge is somewhere in between local and international school. Both in prices and the way they teach. For me it is ok.

Mini goes to a local preschool and I haven't noticed any Singlish. He does use incorrect grammar on occasion, but I put that down to only being 2.

Must depend on the school? My Singaporean friend who lives overseas brought her young children here in July/Aug and put them in a local school for a few weeks, hoping to brush up their Mandarin (she's fluent and the children have lessons where they live). Within a few weeks, "lah", "can" and "cannot" (used without pronouns or verbs) were being used! She was not impressed.
