Our kids outgrew our rabbit too. You know what we did? We took care of it until it died. SPCA is full of animals that people's kids have outgrown but once you take an animal on, you should look after it until it dies, or at the least until you have to move to another country - it's not easy to transport a rabbit overseas I know. Not sure you're teaching your kids to be responsible pet owners if you just look for a new home once they're bored with them either.
