Trying to argue against the use of Foreign Talent and quoting Dubai as an example is ridiculous!  The Emirates population originates from just 12 original tribes.  The population of Dubai today is less than 20% Emirati.  With such a small population, how do you imagine that the economic wonder performed by the Maktoum family could ever have happened?  Was each Emirati man, woman and child supposed to work double shifts at 2 jobs?  Be serious!

And given that the Singaporean Government has actively supported a policy of encouraging immigration - one of the most welcoming policies in the world - isn't it just a tad irreverent of you to be so critical of your leaders? Shocked

"Yea-o Yea-o.. Ho!
 You are the one Singapore..."

Gosh that song is annoying!

and even worse are those hand gestures that go with that song -- absolutely amateurish! Looks like it was produced for a nursery school play  Roll Eyes

Aghhh, yes! That song and the gestures do something horrible to my mind. It makes my skin itchy, not sure why but it is so embarrassing to watch.

"Bandwidth" ie "Do we have enough bandwidth for this" Meaning: Even though our short-sighted budgetting and hiring policies have meant a severe shortage of staff, can we delegate this task to anyone (but me). Also see "empower" for related usage.

"Sale storewide" or "50% off storewide" then in small print "restrictions apply" or "except new stock" etc. Either it's storewide or it's not!

Erm, America isn't the world, you know...
Pants are perfectly alright - wear them right in the first place and don't be caught with them down.
What's wrong with handphone - describe the gadget perfectly. OTOH, what the hell is a cell phone? A handphone you use behind bars? Or one made of plant cells or human corpuscles?

"I'll take that on board"
"ginormous" (cross between gigantic and enormous)
'like' interspersed between words in a sentence:

"I was like going down to the shops when, like I saw my friend and she was like going like to the the shops too"

Cant agree more on that, like I really hate people using 'like' like that  Grin
