I'm hoping to move to Singapore to work for 1-2 years.
At the moment I get paid well and am not keen on taking a large paycut.

I have a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry and PhD specialising in drinking water treatment.
I have 11 years experience the last 5 1/2 of which are with a large multi-national engineering firm.
I also have dual-citizenship (Australian/UK), if that makes any difference.

I'm going to be asking for a fairly hefty salary (P1 Employment Pass). Any ideas on who I should approach for employment?

Cheers,

Mayhem.

The new circle line will open soon and will make travel easier.

Any good places/hotels in Langkawi?

You have just entered...

The Twilight Zone! (or the Trilight Zone, if you're in Singapore).

Stay in Perth, you wont regret it.

This place is unlivable at less than $160K SGD, make sure you ask for more than that. At $200K SGD you can live here without ever realising it, which is really the only way any civilised person *can* live here.

No it's not that. I live quite well here at the moment but would like to broaden my horizons a bit. Singapore is an attractive location. I've been applying for a few jobs and have only had any response from one job.

I sounds like a great job, but the salary is only $9000SGD a month which is quite a drop in pay.
Where are all the big money jobs in Singapore?

try water treatment companies..
like GE Water or Hyflux or L&T
call them directly and check. They are investing huge money these days.

also try United Group Infrastructure. They're Australian and are pretty active in water treatment regionally.

They also have branches in Western Australia, so you could get the ball rolling over there first. This might give you a better chance of getting a decent package.

All the best.

Cheers, I'll look into them.

I have a phone interview this week for an R&D position. It's a paycut in terms of dollars  but I end up with more in my hand thanks to the much kinder taxes.
