As mentioned in my other thread(Status says pending while...), my s pass was disapproved according to the hr person who notified me through email. She said no reason was given by the MOM upon disapproval so there is no way of knowing why i got turned down. My aunt who is a pr in singapore said it MIGHT have been because there is a "No foreigners ruling" at this time? I am just not really sure. So is Singapore closing their doors to foreigners at the moment? I did ask if they could file an appeal, i still have to wait for the response. I have expected too much on it, now everything is kind of a blur. Plan B.

My Employment Pass was approved last week...and I am from Europe...so there is definitely no closure for foreigners. Sorry for your predicament !

Call Centre Industry for American Home Assurance. I think S pass and e pass applicants are treated differently. I thought passing an insurance exam to be certified in singapore would give me some leverage even if I have a nursing degree. I could come up with a lot of theories as to why my s pass application was turned down. It could've because my one year of experience wasn't enough for them, the university where I got my degree isnt on their masterlist. I dont know. They didnt give any reason at all. I emailed my hr person last friday if they would be filing an appeal. I have yet to wait for their response, if they ever do.I checked the status of my spass through mom's online e-service and it says pending. Im really confused. I hope they would give my application a second look. I am just hoping for the best.

Things have been getting clamped down for probably more than 6-months already, S-Pass being the first target on cutting back numbers.

I know a lot of EP and PR rejections as well over the same time.

It's not that "no foreigners" are being approved, just that it is a lot less than before.

This is a job which can be filled by locals (or at least thats what the manpower/immigration authorities think). If the company wants to hire a foreigner, HR will have to justify the need. The authorities probably were not convinced.
