I am wondering what would be the pay scale (in ballpark) for a masters degree holder with 5 years of solid industrial R&D experience in manufacturing - If I were to join Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SimTech), which is part of AStar. I have a few patents, publications, IP awards and such.

Also, I would be glad, if anyone can let me know about the other benefits like housing etc. that they may provide.

Though I am talking in particular about Simtech - I dont think the pay and benefits will be very different from that of any other A*STAR lab.

So, the appropriate figures for any A*STAR lab may also do.

Thanks

It is my understanding that you need a Phd to be a researcher at Simtech

Thanks for your input. But as I can see from their ads in their website and as well as in the central A*STAR website,  most of their openings are for PhD/Good Masters.
See the following ads for example :
http://sg.dimension.jobsdb.com/career/Default.asp?PID=3&AC=ASTAR&EC=001&GC=G1&JobID=2168&LID=1&SP=1&SGB256092470884323

Or may be I am wrong, in practice they may take only PhDs, can somebody else please confirm?

Thanks

if you had a PhD and assume a Post-Doc position, you'd get somewhere around $6k a month. no housing, maybe a one-time relocation allowance (flight, etc). so if you don't have a PhD...
