I am going to london and am looking for a service appartment in the the inner london area close to shopping area in Marble Arch. Anywhere close to that is commutable by bus.

Any personal recommendations of a service appartment you have used?

My husband stayed in a serviced apartment recently which he got from a website called euracom who have lots of apartment rentals on their site (I think they're a booking agent).  His wasn't very good - clean and warm at least but typical UK (cheap and cheerful!), so don't expect anything too fancy if it's on the cheaper side.

It was UK420 per week which is a fairly good deal in London (especially compared to hotel room prices) - the main problems he had with it were lack of space, only one plug socket to use the various kitchen gadgets (so you couldn't boil the kettle and have the toaster or cooker on at the same time!) and the internet connection was rubbish.

This one was near Euston but they have apartments advertised around Marble Arch so you should be able to get an idea of prices from that site (even if you don't use them to book).

Trip Advisor might be worth checking out too as travellers post their own reviews.

For cheap, clean and smallish but great locations we use Citadines. Easy to book online. Ascott group have more upmarket brands as well if you are going to be there more long-term and want more space and home comforts, but citadines is fine for a holiday stay. Have stayed at South Kensington and Holborn and would recommend either.

I second Citadines!  I stayed in a two bedder just off Trafalgar Square - brilliant and only about GBp200 then.
