Hi.

I am hosting a party of about 30 people and need fresh lime juice for making cocktails. I was wondering if I can buy fresh lime juice, instead of having to squeeze 60 odd limes (my estimate) before the party. I want to avoid bottled/preserved juice like reallime as the taste isn't as nice as I'd like it to be. Any idea what bars do for lime juice?

Many thanks !

You can buy cans of the frozen lime juice in most cold storages.  This is what I use when I make margaritas (sp?).  Works great.

Sorry, meant to add.  It is not 100% juice but it does not have that horrible metallic perservative taste to it either.  Maybe if it is not limey enough for your cocktails, you could 50/50.  I am volunteering my services to do some taste testing...... Grin

Get the maid to squeeze the limes. The aroma of freshly squeezed juice will fill the house.

Lazy for not wanting to squeeze 60 or more limes? I'd be looking for an alternative too - unless I had a juicer.

Get a Morrie's juicer (or some other cheapo brand). They only cost $30 or so & are really quick. Hand would take forever!

Would love to join the tasting but sounds as if you have more than enough to deal with.  How about you post your cocktail recipe here - I love anything with lime (well almost, anyway).

sour puss --- I have an idea... since we are in a capitalist society maybe you can go help squeeze the limes and in return you can get your buzz on  Grin

Just make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly after squeezing. The acid in limes can really burn your skin (2nd degree burns or worse), even more so if you expose your hands to sunlight during squeezing or afterwards. Harsh.
