its odd that these spelling errors come through, all misspelled words are underlined in the text editor... shows either :

(a) person doesn't care about spelling, thinks its unimportant
(b) thinks he/she is right and the spell checker is wrong [in some cases valid w American/British]
(c) doesn't understand what the red underline is for

Opera / Firefox / Safari in that order

Opera is my prefered browser at the moment, Firefox seems slower and slower with every release. Safari is quite nice too when I am working on the Mac but I find Google chrome to be overrated, I don't use that one any longer, too little compatibility..

Just as I thought.  The Microsoft browser does not spell check by default which is why your post about the red underline seems a bit strange at first sight.

Bad is an adjective.  You need an adverb.

I would recommend "...spell so poorly" - there is no substitute for knowing correct spelling and grammar, no matter which browser you use!

Where am I landed? Is it a english learning forum. Everybody just wanted to give me opinion about my spelling error rather than giving me some information about my original question.

Well well well It seems all of you guys never made any mistake in your whole life while writing english.

Basically I hope to get some info about finding jobs or a  phd position rather than getting information about what browser I am using or whether my spelling check is on or not

Belarus girl, I was thinking about doing a Masters in Econ too. In fact I posted earlier regarding the benefits of MBA vs Msc Econ and got some feedback in another expat forum. Not sure what your career goals are or what work experience you bring to the table. Both of the above would play a big role so it's a very subjective call. My reasons for considering a MSc in Econ was to get into developmental or central banks like the World Bank or ADB, or perhaps even sovereign funds. I currently am in the Finance industry.

You're very patient with these irritating and unhelpful and condescending expats who can only criticise but not help. In fact, they themselves should be criticised for their poor skills in observation -- you did say you're a Belarus girl, which would suggest that English is not your first language. There are plenty of expats in Singapore who speak English as a foreign language from Europe and Asia who have more to offer than their English language skills. Then of course there are those from Britain, Australia and the US who still cannot speak or spell properly anyway ...

To answer your question, you can try going to the contactsingapore.sg website. Add the www in front -- I just can't do it here, otherwise the system will automatically delete it. You will see that there are job openings from various companies and industries, but you do need to know where your skills lie, whether in manufacturing or finance or academia etc. You probably have some ideas already of where you'd like to work, whether in research, teaching or like I said, some industry.

The list is of course not complete and I'm sure you can apply to the big companies like Shell or BP which are always looking for talented people and would be familiar with Belarus. Many companies and research institutes in Singapore are represented online, so you can contact them via email etc. You may want to try headhunters too.

Eventually you will find that you need to make a trip to Singapore to meet a lot of these people face-to-face.

sorry but to ask whether there is a job in this forum is not very productive since you are dealing with at least pseudo anonymous people.

best is to go to a job site which can easily be found by googling.
