Is it still true that the World Cup may not be shown in Singapore?

Tell me something is being sorted out........please!

No, the 2010 Football World Cup will not be shown in Singapore. 

The Govt allowed the cable TV providers (Starhub, Singtel) to get into a bidding war for EPL and as a result of the ridiculously high price they Singtel paid, now FIFA have appropriately upped the asking price for the World Cup.  Now we see poor, destitute Singapore is unable to pay.  Seems that boasting how rich you are, and grossly over paying has come back to bite them in bum.

Hilarious.

I have football fan friends already planning their RSA trips.

that would probably be do-able.
Funny,  I was discussing the lack of World Cup coverage on Singapore TV with a taxi-driver earlier...he just shrugged and said "I'll  just go and watch it in Malaysia!"
