When you complete PR formalities...

I have two questions about completing PR formalities (that is, the day you take your health certificate and photos to ICA).
1. Do they hand you your NRIC card immediately, or do you go back another day for that?
2. Do they give you the REP immediately?
Thank you.

we did the fingerprinting etc and got the REP immediately. It took a bit of time (maybe a couple of hours?) because we queued to hand the documents in then waited a while for them to be processed behind the scenes and were then called back to the desk to finalise everything. My husband's photo didn't scan very well, not enough contrast, so they sent him downstairs to have another one taken, so maybe that slowed us down. We were given an appointment a few days later to return to collect the blue ICs - that only took a few minutes. All in it was pretty painless - just take a book to kill time and make sure you get a queue number for the right service on your way in.

Agree with PP - you get your REP immediately and come back a few days later for your IC.
You have to book an appointment slot online anyway (see the approval letter) - so book for a day when you can get an appointment really early in the morning so you can get in and out as soon as possible.
I think the whole fingerprint-taking, form-filling, etc took me about 45 minutes, and then less than 5 minutes to collect my IC a week later.

Thank you. Can you travel out of Singapore during the week between the appointment and getting the IC card one week later?
