The exhaust hose was put out the wndown and the window shut on it to keep it in place - hmmm - now its in pieces.

Where to buy a 4 inch diameter hose - was told a Hardware store but those I have been to only have 2 inch.

Anybody bought a 4 inch hose and specifically where?

Thanks in advance for any answers

For hardware needs - I go to a store called Motherland which is in a couple of locations. Nothing they don't stock really. But their staff don't speak a lot of English so best to take along a sample of what you want. The other option is to call the manufacturer/dealer of your dryer here and ask them what a replacement tube costs. I was in the market for such a tube once and the difference was 50 bucks at the authorized dealer vs 20 bucks at hardware store.

Thanks for the info - I have asked the dealer and they just look blankly and say try a hardware shop.

I will ask my intern at work about Motherland -  he can come along and translate for me  Grin

I had this problem a few years ago and bought one on our trip back to the UK. It was 5 pounds at homebase.  If you can't find one here, maybe someone could post you one from your home country.  They seem to be a universal size.

Got mine at Rina electrical in Shaw centre on Orchard/Scotts corner. There's also a very well-stocked hardware store in Shaw Centre with helpful staff where you can find just about anything but I didn't find it until later.

I was told the hardware store in Tanglin Mall might have one so I trailed down there today and no joy but they sent me to Best Denki in Takashimaya and they gave me numbers of the service centre.

I will try Rina's next and if not will order two from the UK in my next red cross parcel if anyone invites themselves over for a holiday or I can arrange to pick it up in Thailand

Thanks for the suggestions

My ex LL made me trapse all over SP to replace a hose for his dryer that was in the condition that I originally received it (because I didn't use the dryer). He wouldn't return the deposit otherwise! The ones from Shaws didn't fit. In the end I had to go to the dealership in Changi to their spare parts dept. and it cost me S$70. You may need to google your brand of dryer here in Singapore and call them up. Mine was a LG.

Best Denki gave me the number of the agent/'dealer = I will call tomorrow and find where it isa but i bet its somewhere like Changi where you went.

I am going to ask my sister to send me a couple from Homebase or wherever in the UK as well.

Having to return items to service centres and the like as well as other crap customer service her is a joke.
