Looking for some feed back.  Going to Phuket soon and jsut found out our usual hotel is full.  Usually go to Laguna Beach Resort on Bangtao Bay, directly on the beach and fantastic kids club.  Any recommendations welcome for a good family based hotel on a nice beach with access to some local restraunts.

Laguna Holiday Club is better. Laguna Beach Hotel is a dump. You can walk across the road thru the Sheraton to the beach.

I like Kata.  Try KataThani hotel if you want a big-ish hotel - loads of restaurants around there to choose from too.

If you like the Laguna resort, you should like the Marriott (either the Beach Club or the new one).  Not much choice in local restaurants though unless you hop in a cab.

Thanks folks but looks like they had some cancellations so back to the Laguna Beach Club, the kids love it!
