Yes - this crusts thing since starting school is crazy, isn't it? My older boy has even extended this fussiness to any fruit, nut, salad or unusual sandwich filling and now even a Portuguese custard tart! At home he eats, and always has eaten, whatever is on his plate, which is just as well since I provide no alternatives. But when it comes to school....apparently the other kids on his table don't like the food in his lunch box so he won't eat it. He often comes home not having eaten and stuffing it all down the minute he's out of school. He's quite thin so he can't really afford to not eat at school. So...for the first time ever I find myself relenting and making plain ham sandwiches and yogurt just so he doesn't freak out at school through lack of calories.
