Where can I get a sturdy, reasonably priced changing table with drawers? The ones in ikea just look so flimsy and the ones in Mothercare and Tanglin Mall are just so ridiculously priced.

Is to buy a good chest of drawers from Ikea and stick a changing mat on top. Obviously not as safe as having a big ridge on the edge, but I would never leave my child alone with that anyway.
It's done us well for 2 children and means we haven't ended up with a changing table that we don't need at the end.

That Hensvik one looks great, but just I rang Ikea and they haven't got any in stock at either location (and don't have details of when they will be getting more).  I'll keep trying them though as that price is much more reasonable, and if they don't get any, I might try the idea of putting a changing mat on a chest of drawers Thanks for the tips  |

Seriously babies outgrow change tables really quickly. I had one and used it for about 6 weeks. The best thing to do is buy one of those change mats and change your baby on the mat on the bed.

I think I might just get the mat and change on top of the drawers or on the bed. I had a changing table with my first and used that for my second child as well (gave it away with all other baby stuff when we left the UK). This baby is definitely the last one so will try to make do without the table. Thanks  |

I have two sets of the plastic baskets and with some baskets on the lower shelf it is somehow organised. Also, for the money I will not be crying when the time comes to chuck it.
On the table goes the $10 changing mat which is fairly ok. It's cheap enough to replace anytime you feel that cleaning it does not do the job. We also used one of the mats in the bath and lay the baby there for a shower, straight from week 2 when their umbilical cord was dry. No baths till they sat at 6-7 months but they loved it and are not scared of shower at all. The one we used in the bath was replaced quite often without broken heart.
