Yes, the MOE is putting fees up a significant amount for non-PR and non-citizens. Can't recall what it will equate to exactly, but it is a hefty sum for a state school where you are given last priority for placements...

As someone else already said, kids can socialise a myriad of other ways through clubs and activities etc. Personally, I can't stand most of the jerks I went to school with and wouldn't consider the years I spent at school to have been a particularly good socialising experience!
