9 year old Male Golden Retriever for adoption. He is paper trained, very obedient, mild tempered do simple tricks like sit, roll over, stay, no health problems and good with children. He will make a wonderful companion.

My parents recently moved into a smaller flat its too small for him. I am not able to take him as I have three cats.

Only for genuine dog lovers. Please contact me Gimm at 91799741 or Chewy at 97531554. Thanks

how can you get rid of an old dog; a dog that spent all his life with you and in his twilight years is inconvenient?
how sad.

The most compelling factor that influences the happiness of dogs like labradors and golden retrievers is to be with the people they know and love. At the age of 9 with more than half his life over, this dog is going to want to be with his familiar loved ones. If family circumstances dictate that your parents need to move to a smaller place, am sure this dog can make the adjustment along with them. At this dog's stage in life, known and familiar people are more important than space. Space is of course great and at the time of getting a dog we should take that into carfeul consideration. However if space is the only consideration here and your parents are still reasonably healthy enough to give him his walks every day, am quite sure given the choice he is going to want to stay with those whom he has loved and trusted for the last 9 years. Am so sorry, don't want to come across as interfering, but really pets are for life unless something overwhelming happens to disturb the ability to take care of them.

Agree. And he doesnt look slim so hardly an active dog, he will be happy with a couple of walks a day and the companionship of his owners.  Dogs at that age dont need alot of space at all.

And in anycase, I've often come across cats ( yes, more than 2) and dogs co-existing well. So your inability to keep this beloved pet is pretty lame as well.

me have 3 cats and a very very old dog that pees non-stop at home.I come home each day after work mopping the house...wake up each morning cleaning the floor....

I have not thought of giving him away yet.  It is the worst for them to be alive and giving to strangers at such old age when they needed you the most.

try...try to have a heart for him

I love the only for genuine dog lovers note at the bottom of the OP

Obviously original owners are not genuine dog lovers since they now have no room for him. Heartless typical SG dog owners! Poor dog now he's disposable like a couch that doesn't fit the room.
