Everyone I have spoken to who has recently renewed their lease has told me that their rent has gone up. Not by 50%, as was happening in 2006-2007, but by between 10 and 20%. The important thing to understand is that rents are ridiculously high in the first place, so even a 10% increase is just crazy.
