"Any person who can foresake their own citizenship for this, well, it speaks volumes about you anyway huh ?

Losers !"

World-famous, multimillionaire Actor Jet Li and Actress Gong Li gave up their citizenship for Singaporean citizenship.

Are they losers too?

PR for tax evasion or PR because it's a better country than where they are from ?

Hi,
I am presuming by now you must have gotten a reply regarding the outcome of your application for citizenship.
How long did it take in total?
Thanks,
Bill

Hi,

I am just a passerby in this forum and was looking up famous personalities who migrated to Singapore. I learnt that Jim Rogers (the investment guru whom I look up to) is here as well. I am trying to persuade my entire family to migrate here and be citizens of this country.

I don't believe that I can't cut it in my own country, but I value the education, Chinese ties, cleanliness and sanity of this country. At the very least people don't carry guns here and there is racial harmony here! Of course the tax incentives and zero cap gains tax help a lot too.

Having lived and worked in Shanghai, HK, Beijing, NYC and London, I think Singapore wins these places overall in many areas that I value. It all depends on your values.

Someone mentioned that somebody else likes Singapore because they are not well-travelled?

Depends on what you mean by well-travelled. What you see of a country when you are a tourist or short term visitor is not necessarily the real deal when you live and make a living in the country.
