Just come out of a long relationship of 10 years and coming to work in Singapore again, leaving canary wharf behind (and it wont be missed).

How is the singles scene there these days for a guy over 35 ? and wheres the good nightspots to hang out to meet the local singaporean women ?

I will either be moving near to chinatown or east coast havent decided yet, need to see what the rental budget is.

No matter that you are a fatty.  As long as you are a European and earn quite well, you will find that you were a lot more handsome than you previously thought and will end up with gf's 10 years younger.

Seriously though, you don't get too many prisoners who do 10 years and come straight out and do something to get put back in again (well apart from Charles Bronson, but he's the exception rather than the rule).

Truth is, you might get  a couple of one night stands but let's face it - white man, fat wallet, it'll be 'I'm pregnant and you're the father now shut up and carry my LV bag' before you've managed to finish unpacking if you're not careful.

Maybe I will just rent and not buy.  I hear Clarke Quay is famous for its rental opportunities.

Listen very carefully. I will say this only once.

Here's a hot tip. Walk down Orchard road past the Thai embassy, and you'll find a shopping mall called Orchard Towers. Its famous for cameras and suchwith. Now go up a couple of floors and there will be a bar named after Juliets boyfriend from the famous Shakespearean play. Go in there and you will meet plenty of friendly young ladies. Rememeber to play hard to get.

The 4 floors is world famous for its thai and indonesian.  No if possible i would prefer to just get to meet some decent local women but without the filial piety and the handbag carrying.

2.  SG girls are the best, they love white guys, have fun!

Neither are entirely correct, but like many stereotypes they each have a grain of truth.

If you've got game you can get great SG girls that are pretty, fun, smart and carry no baggage.  If you've not got game, you will end up as the 17th white boyfriend of some 33 year old fading SG chick who knows she can't go back to local guys, ever.  This will then likely lead to OT, eventually.

You will know where you stand after your first month on the scene.  Good luck, it's rough out there sometimes.

Thanks for that.!!  I have got game, I am getting on a bit though, not into nightclubs really but I hear anyway its mainly full of youngsters on the nightclub scene out there.

Hopefully there are plenty of singletons in mid to late 30's and while I am looking I suppose I could hit clarke quay now and again and maybe even a night at OT to admire the scenery and to hang out with other expats rather than just sit at home doing solitary.

Not sure the expats that 'hang out at OT' are the types of expats you really want to spend time with..........but then, if you'd even consider spending time there then you'll probably fit right in

How to meet normal women? You can sign up for a yoga class. Or pretend to buy some cosemtics so you can try your luck on the counter girls. This is assuming you have some conversational skills of course. Otherwise you're just condemned to internet dating hell where hopefully the women won't lose interest in you after the first date.
