Banks & Commodity stocks are the very first companies that investors will sell.
I have made a whopper shorting WBC, ANZ, MQG, NAB and my profits for shorting the Aussie is triple that after shorting at 0.90.......(thank goodness I am in SG as I do not have to pay taxes on my profits !)
I am also shorting the banks in Spain, UK and USA.

I understand Australian Bank debt structured differently from international banks' debt in that it is Australian debt not international debt so any default, however remote, will not be destructive.
