We are going to Philipines for Xmas (26/dec to 3 Jan) and would like to hear some experiences. We look for
1/fantastic clean beaches
2/something to do or somewhere togo at night time. We have 3 teenagers with us (20,19.16)
3/ excellent hotel located somewhere wher we can walk and go to eat to different places.

Heard about Boracay but have the impression that is very touristic and and exploited.
Any comments welcome.

I have a house in Boracay and been a resident for some years now, yes it is touristy, but its the best you will find in the Philippines. Its more than suitable for your teenagers and yourselves. in fact they probably won't want to leave.

Just get a hotel on the main beach, price varies from Low at Station 3 (north end) to High at Station 1 (South end). Station 2 is to be avoided during New Year, unless you don't like to sleep.

If you want a quieter place, then Diniwid Beach area, is still only a 20 minute walk along the beach to main beach and access to many restaurants and bars.

Book your accomodation and pay for it early to avoid a surprise. Its common for hotels to over booking, they will honour those that paid first.
