Hi

Just taking a look at what's on offer. We were looking ideally for a boys school, just curious why there are no single sex or selective International schools here?

Are they against the local laws?

There are plenty of single sex local schools, but none that I know of as international schools, but there's nothing to stop you applying for a local school.

I assume there are no international schools which go down this route simply because nobody has ever thought to open one, as far as I know, there are no laws against it (there can't be if there are single sex local schools).

I imagine there has never been enough demand for such schools in the international community for anyone to venture out and open one. Setting up a new school here is very expensive; so maybe the pool of parents that would consider it for their children just doesn't justify the effort? I know single-sex schools from having lived in Britain, but in many European countries they don't exist and would go against a lot of people's outlook. I'm not against them myself; just can't see them succeed in such a small place.
