Can you buy tickets for the theme park anywhere else in Singapore?  On their website it says you can only get them by buying online or visiting the ticket booth on Sentosa, but parts of their website haven't been updated for a while by the look of it (they're still going on about the soft opening in March on it!).

I'm between credit cards at the moment so I can't buy online.  I would have thought that you could buy them at places like the Singapore tourism place (otherwise it must make it quite difficult for tourists to get hold of them in advance).

can you buy them on the day?  You can't on the website but maybe you can at the ticket booth?

Regarding your question on buying for the day, it is not the norm but I know somebody that was lucky out and was able to get same day tickets from the Sentosa ticket booth (it was a weekday).  I think they have an allotted number for tickets per day and if they aren't sold online until the night previous to the day in question, then they are sold at the Sentosa ticket booth as tickets for that day.  To avoid disappointment, it really is much better to book online or visit the ticket booth and buy for the specific day you had in mind.

Sorry, can't help you on your query about other ticket outlets.

You can buy them on the day but I know people who've gone down there only to find that they've sold out which is a bit of a wasted trip to Sentosa - and spending money on the entrance fee to get there.

It just seems like a bit of a weird way to operate to me.  Tourists don't always have access to the internet and if they did, they might feel a bit dubious about entering their credit card details in some internet cafe somewhere, so I'm surprised that you can't buy them elsewhere on the island (such as with Sistic or someone).  Also there are plenty of groups of teens who would want to go with their friends and they don't always have a credit card.  I'm surprised that Universal Studios haven't sorted out some other way to purchase the tickets. 

I checked the tourism board website too but there's no mention of it on there.  I guess I'll just have to trek down there and get them in advance to avoid dragging the whole family down there on the day just to be disappointed.

We went yesterday.  Had called previously to ask if it was possible to buy tickets on the day, but by the time we got there (about 10.30) they were all sold out.  Very disappointing for everyone, but at least we can go back another day.  It would be really annoying if you only have a few days in Singapore.  Agree that RWS need to sort out another way for people to buy tickets.  SISTIC would be the obvious answer as they have counters all over the island.

Very disappointing for everyone, but at least we can go back another day.  It would be really annoying if you only have a few days in Singapore.

My in-laws were here from HK from Saturday to Tuesday with the purpose of going to Universal on Monday. By the time they arrived ~10:30am all the tickets were sold.

a) We had no idea there was a limit in place
b) This is not mentioned on their website
c) the only place to buy in advance then is their website

The in-laws went back to HK without managing to get into the park....oh, well stick with Disney! SG still has a lot to learn.

I emailed them yesterday to ask if there was anywhere else that we could buy tickets in Singapore and they've just got back to me to say no, and apologised for it.  So I wrote back with my comments about how I thought they needed alternative ticketing agents etc and asked them to pass on my feedback, so I'll see what they say about it when they get back to me.

So, i book online the day before, no probs with that.  But then i wake in the morning to find thunderstorms and lightening - what then?  Do I really have to go or can i defer those tickets?

You're stuck with it from what I understand.  There are a few indoor/undercover things like the Mummy rollercoaster and the waltzer things (that they call the Accelerator......but it's really just a waltzer!) and some of the shows are indoors, but it'd still be a real disappointment.

We eventually went on Thursday and had a great day with lovely weather - woke up on the Friday morning to rain, rain and more rain so we were lucky.  When I went to buy the tickets the previous week it was rainy weather too but I could see the rides operating then, so I think they still go, they just stop when there is lightning and perhaps when the rain is really heavy (this was umbrella weather but not the crazy heavy rain that we get in thunderstorms).

The Battlestar is still closed and one of the people who worked there said they thought it'd be out of action until around Christmas/January.  There's also a new Madagascar ride which isn't due to open until around the same time so it might be better to wait if people in the group are rollercoaster fans - at the moment, the Mummy is the only thrill ride (Jurassic Park is quite good, but apparently very tame compared to their LA park).

It's a small park and there aren't that many rides really but it's good for a day out with the kids (there's not much to do for very young kids though - I reckon 5-6 and upwards would have more fun).  I don't think I'd buy an annual pass, it's just too small and I'd probably go about 3 times and feel like I'd been there, seen it, done it and (literally!) got the t-shirt.

We went with a group of visitors earlier in the week. Even though it was a bit wet most of the rides were operating. As the main attraction rollercoasters were out there were pretty long queues for very mediocre rides.

Funny how they've managed to get their multitude of shops open but not the rides....good old Singapore.

I'm not sure how much more the 'express' tickets are which allow you to cut the lines but may be worth it if you want to avoid hour-plus queues in places.

Compared to other places....not enough rides and what they have are mediocre.

One other word of warning....keep away from the 'Monster Rock' show...it is truly awful.

Tried to book tickets at US, got into an argument with useless and ill-informed customer service staff on the phone, then couldn't get the day we wanted so I called HK Disneyland, got great customer service and flew there with the kids for a long weekend. We had the best time. Frankly I'd rather do that than drive over to Sentosa to US. Believe it or not, it's less hassle.

Very funny comment about the Monster Rock show - my 8 year old son turned to me just after it started, rolled his eyes and stated it was "lame" Smiley   Had to agree.

Express tickets were $30 per person and well worth it for the 4D show and the monorail type ride near the Flying Dinosaur ride alone (anyone remember the names?)  Didn't go on the Mummy ride but guess the queue would have been long in there given it's the only decent rollercoaster.

Youngest member of our group was 3 and she had enough rides to go on and keep her occupied.

It was a good day out for the kids and the food and shops are reasonably priced.  Walking around, the park didn't feel over crowded.

Main gripes - The log ride had broken down the day we were there.  There is a film making special effects show you can see,  which broke down when we were in there.  The Madagascar Crate ride was supposed to be open by now and it isn't.  I'm not bothered about the big roller coaster, but I think that they shouldn't charge full price entrance fees to a half finished park. 
(and yes I knew about the big roller coaster before we went but the others....)

yes, I know what you mean - the Jurassic park broke down when we were there - we'd been on it once but it would have been nice to have been able to go again, and the dino sky ride thing wasn't working either. 

They seem to have been too hasty to get the place open and now the customers are suffering for it.  although we did get $5 off vouchers for merchandise and food and beverage which I assumed were because of Battlestar being out of action (but they might just do the voucher thing anyway to get people to buy stuff).

I'm hoping that they're going to start doing some special deals for people - collect vouchers from the newspaper and win 'one goes free' vouchers in promotions and things like that.  It's an expensive day out, even if you don't go for the express ticket offer.

Given there's not actually many rides, one being down is enough but two - i mean, surely aside from the queues there would only be a couple of hours of entertainment at best?  I think i really will wait until they have it sorted.
