Has anyone been?  How terrible are the queues? 

Also, I heard that you can go to your own national exhibition without queueing by showing your passport (and you can take friends with you so that if a German and a Frenchman club together, each can take the other to his exhibition. 
Is that right?

PP: I heard this second hand but the rule applies to foreigners not PRC citizens.

There was something about it in the newspaper the other week, the journalist really didn't enjoy himself, the queues were massive but he said that everyone apart from him seemed to have no issues with standing for 2 hours queueing in the sun......so he figured it must be just him who had a problem LOL

The queues are horrific! Vast majority of the visitors are mainland Chinese and they really don't seem to mind.  Yes it is true that some National Pavilions will allow their own citizens in without queuing - Certainly true of the German Pavilion.
