Can someone recommend a place that may carry mini- quiche or flan dishes that are colorful. Seems hard to find in Singapore. Thanks.

Not sure about colourful but I got a white one from Ikea once and a glass one from Mustafa (they're not mini though).  But you could try the usual suspects (Takashimaya, Isetan, Tangs etc) if you're in the Orchard area and see what they have got in stock - I would have thought they'd be more likely to have something fancy than Ikea or Mustafa.

Not sure about colorful dishes either but the restaurant supply stores on Temple Street should have as well as the one on Joo Chiat road.

Just bear in mind that metal quiche tins cook the pastry better than the ceramic ones

The one on Joo Chiat is almost directly across Fair Price. Coming from the big Geylang wet market, it is a few stores down from the start of Joo Chiat and is on the right had side. Sia Huat on Temple street carries more upscale items compared to this store but it is definitely worth browsing around.

When I was searching on the Internet for a place to have my knives properly sharpened I found a wonderful tiny shop called Razor Sharp which supplies some super brands to well known department stores. Last time I went I bought a large ceramic quiche dish (they had different colours) but every time I go I leave with a few things. They are friendly, helpful and prices are cheaper than major stores. They also have decent sales.

i got a great one at spotlight at plaza sing. I also picked up a smaller one at Tangs on orchard. it's one of those things that you see and you immediately buy - it is rarely there when you go back a few days later.

Wondering if there might be an outlet somewhere on Thompson that might have something-from Indonesia a factory outlet of some sort that may carry something similar in color? Does anyone know where this place is? Kiss

but it closed down about 12 months ago I think. It was a fabulous place but it didn't do quiche dishes. Just dinner plates and cups and saucers. The last time i went it was having a closing down sale and that was a year ago, everything was half price. I remember picking up 48 pieces for about $12!

there are 3 day outlet/warehouse type sales now and then on branded bedding, designer clothing, this and that. some are cheap, some not.
you just have to keep an eagle eye out for those little ad columns in the newspapers. the're usually quite easy to spot.

poke around in the HDB shops. you will be surprised sometimes at what designer brands and goods lurk in the most inconspicuous of places.

That is very good info. Where is the biggest HDB shopping neighborhood in Singapore? Grin
