Hi, just an update. I've recently been watching and enjoyed:

Sons of Anarchy seasons 1+2 (a bit gruesome)
Stephen Fry in America
Michael Woods Story of Britain (ok, I like history)
Joanna Lumley's Nile (Jo always is a treat to watch)
The Inbetweeners (UK series, absolutely hilarious, witty and dry - loved it!!!)

I just found this series on Apple TV:  Downton Abbey -- it's excellent!!! Very similar to Upstairs Downstairs, and reminds me of the movie "Gosford Park".

Oh I will check that out. I do love a good costume drama and need a bit of company when my husband is away on bus. I can't watch them when he is around as he just whines and I don't enjoy it. His favourite movie is Bad Boys 2 so that about says it all Wink

Homicide (Life on the Street).

I've seen all of The Wire.  Homicide is even better, IMO.

Sam after your post on the pedestrian road rage board I'm a little worried about your choice of TV shows. We don't want any life imitating art stories please.  Grin

Homicide is actually extremely well acted, sensitive and thoughtful.

I'm watching Two and a Half Men now, if that eases your concern.  (But only because Sheen's been such a bad boy. Never seen an episode before.)  The canned laughter on my version is rather irritating - why?!

No you're right - 'Homicide's' not bad at all. But you really left yourself wide open after the road-rage post.

Turn the sound down on 2 1/2 and overlay with your favorite Steely Dan CD. Sheen's facial expressions should be plenty good enough for laughs and babylon sister speaks for herself.
