The first thing you should do is to ask your husband, "Why were you so careless, dear?"

Where is a maid going to get $800 for an abortion? I would help her out financially if she decides to go that way. By the way, is abortion legal here?

Abortion is available on demand in Singapore up to 24 weeks.  Later than 24 weeks if the procedure is necessary for the mother's health etc.  Minors do not require parental consent but if they are under 16 they are required to undergo counseling.  The cost of the abortion varies according to how advanced the pregnancy.

To be honest, if mine was pregnant she would be on a plane.  This is mostly as I don't want to get on the wrong side of the law and go dodgy routes and possibly get my family in grief rather than lack of sympathy. They are grown women so it is obvious why this can happen.

That said, if I was to support her I wouldn't pay the full bill.  Father should help, so should she, I wouldn't want it to happen again. If she doesn't know the father then goodbye. If she does but he doesn't want to know then other options.  If a foreign worker (likely) warn maid not to be so stupid, if local I'd get his number and ask him to pay, if not I'd tell his wife.  Whatever I'd still expect the maid to pay a bit even if nominal as a lesson in life.

This is a long way from easy and it is hard to know where to draw the line. They are grown adults but the law makes you responsible for their actions which is an odd place to be.  Anyway, I wouldn't be critical whether you repatriated her or paid the lot it is just where you are ok drawing the line.

Don't joke, I know a situation where that occurred and it was awful.
