Are you for real?
I read lots of interesting stuff in here but never read that local women do not use tampons, how ridiculous is that ?
Where do you live ? Probably in a $$$$ condo full of 50++ post-menauposal expat wives !!

I'm laughing at my desk now, that's hilarious Smiley Please post more like this, I have 10 more mins to kill before my next meeting!

Laugh at yourself then, they don't use them. This isn't to say they don't use anything (duh!), they use pads instead.  How many tampon ads have you seen on TV vs the pads with some girl playing volleyball and some guff about wings?

My Singaporean OB here verified this - I forget now why it even came up, but he mentioned that tampon use is not very popular with the local population.

You'll find this is true in quite a number of countries.  I suspect (but cannot confirm) that tampons are rare in Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, etc.   The poster who "laughed" is just clueless about the world outside of North America.

Said poster assumed they use nothing (which would be a bit shocking) rather than using pads instead (which obviously isn't).

You can get o.b. and tampax in almost every drugstore and even cold storage. I mean how many different brands of tampons do you need?

I buy mine at Mustafas(spelling?, slightly cheaper.

They are different, a tampon goes inside, a sanitary pad is basically a lining for your pants.

I usually do too but they seem to be having issues with their stock at the moment; the last couple of times I've been in they haven't had them.

Wow, I know what this forum can be like but didn't think that post could spark a reaction.  Any way FYI I'm 29, dont hang out with 50++, not that I would oppose it, I work with mainly Singaporeans of a similar age to me.  When I asked them  where I could buy tampons (in particular tampax compact) I was told by all that they dont use them - something to do with "internal violation", their words not mine.  I never suggested they dont use pads as an alternative or that all locals dont use them, I just wished I had known this before coming so thought it could be helpful.  Hope this has entertained you as much as my previous post, it's a nice feeling to know I'm responsible for someones smiles  Wink

So true with tampons!  Especially if you don't use applicators - I get friends to bring over mega boxes of Libra Fleur from Aus.  Have you noticed how many pads are on sale here?  It's like a wall of them with 2 boxes of tampons over to the side.

LOL, yes and if they all fell down, you'd be buried under a mound of feminine hygiene and they'd have to dig you out.   Cheesy
