The question is meaningless.
I doubt if anyone, except the tax man, knows how much expats make, and he is not telling.
In general expats make more in Singapore than they would at "home" or they would not uproot themselves and their families.
The older they get, the bigger the difference needed to make the move worth while

For the expat construction worker, 20 yr to 60 yr, about S$1,200 per month, including overtime.
For the expat domestic maid, about S$200 to S$1,000, depending on nationality and years of experience.

What a meaningless question.  What is the average salary of a local?
From $200 to $3 million a month.

Western expats, i.e. white guys.

Just because you have to make an estimate doesn't mean it's meaningless. And please learn the definition of average.  Are you both lawyers by any chance?

Be clear with what you want. You didn't say anything about Western or white. So, Barry Obama does not apply? I know what is an average - and that's why it is meaningless.  One made a million a month, and the other made 1000 a month. So, the average of the 2 is half a million a month.

Does your white expat include that jobless guy knocking on doors trying to find a job here?  Does it include the guy selling food at the neighbourhood hawker centre. Or the ones on local terms?

Rat,
Please enlighten us poor ignorant people on what you mean by " Average"
Do you mean the arithmetic mean, the geometric mean, the harmonic mean,  the median or the mode?
I am not a lawyer.
Why should that be relevant?

Why do people associated westerners with Whiteys?

That would mean that Barry Obama, Tiger Woods, and Lewis Hamilton are not westerners.

And how about the highly paid expats from India, China etc.

I agree- what a meaningless qestion

Totally stupid question.  Only the SG government could possibly provide you the mean annual income of all Caucasian foreigners employed in SG.  And does that include kids and wives (or husbands) on dependant's passes working as receptionists or at Burger King?

Why don't you try asking the IRAS?

What about me? I'm a white woman NOT working at Burger King or as a receptionist. And I won't be an expat here much longer. Do I count?

Why do people assume that because someone has one black parent they are automatically black too. Have you seen Lewis Hamilton's mother? She's whiter than the ace of spades covered in liquid paper.
