I am a certified AIX consultant with more than twenty years experience and I am looking for opportunities in Singapore and Hong-Kong, however I have been offered rates as low as S$5000/month, which equates to less than half of my current rate in Amsterdam (converting Euro to $S).

Does anyone have any idea of IT contracting/consulting rates?

is consulting v- you need to get a contract from outside and come in.

Local contracting market is almost non-existent as far as I can tell.

The salary you quoted looks about right - they get Indians and to a lesser extent Filipinas in those roles and pay low rates - locals too.

very similar to my profile - but what about taxation? Do you pay taxes in SG or does company equalize?
