Classmate stealing from son - opinions please

when my kid was younger this happened too. It seems a common occurrence amongst few children. Basically they get greedy and want what they don't have. They get addicted to wanting to collect this and that. Later on.... the boy in question also stole virtual things from games...
firstly dont let you kid take cards to school, and then prepare you kid what to say if he finds it happens...

Seems it should suffice to prohibit bringing his toys to school and then take it as a lesson learned, don't make a big deal/drama out if it. As to not inviting the child, well if your son doesn't want to invite then its fine but instead of narrowing the chasm its widening by that action. It is better to get to know the child better, who knows,maybe they end up as best friends at the end.
