I have the 8200 and had it customised to my specs and it just rocks.... one thing though...if you are looking at getting one make sure you get the hard drive with the quite fan. Some of the 8200’s come with this fan that sounds like a jet liner landing...I think like mine.

Other than that I have had only one problem and that was upgrading to Win XP. some of the hardware components are not compatible, sound card, CD burner etc....so I had to revert back to ME.

Kind of stupid when you think of it that Dell would send out a machine that required extensive user reconfiguration when you wanted to upgrade your OS.

I waited a month. Mr Dell is in town. Anyone knows how I can contact him to have an audience with him? Or at least read this thread?

Anyone wants to come along for the discussion?

Well BM, if you are serious about meeting Mr. Dell, I might be able to see if Mr. Dell is willing.  But I can't make any promises.

I am serious, very serious about meeting with him. To tell him about my aggro. He might or might not be interested. But I would certainly like to give positive feedback and how they can improve there. If he is sincere about it I will well buy something from DELL.

So, please set it up, and let me know. My telp : 6226 6062.

Thanks.

Not sure if Kes tipped you off but Michael Dell was in town yesterday - he addressed an AMCHAM lunch. May still be around if you would like "to take it to the top". Ringing Raffles may be faster than ringing Dell if you want to speak with him.

Thanks. Yes I am aware he is in town - have been keeping a total lookout for him since! Just didn't know where he is staying.

kes gave me an email contact. I have sent off the email at about 10.00pm tonight.

Given his schedule he might be too busy to attend to this minor isolated incident. I of course would like a personal chat with him, though. What do you think?

Thanks again.
