NUS ranked high, but ever tried looking into the rankings? they take into consideration "number of foreign students" for diversity... and you know better than me... about how "diverse" NUS is! majority of the population is ASEAN/Indian/Chinese. so... though they have a HUGE number of foreign students, it's not that diverse a student body. second, they take into consideration the number of foreign instructors- again... same as the first point.

I couldn't agree more. China is one of a few countries, where all of team members in the International Mathematical Olympiad finished with gold medals, while Singapore is one of a few countries, where no team members in the International Mathematical Olympiad finished with gold medals. In fact, there is a difference in the quality of top students between the two countries.

Yes. The difference is that the best Chinese secondary students typically come to Singapore to study at NUS, while the best Singaporean secondary school students go to Oxford/Cambridge, Stanford, Harvard or MIT to study.

I think NUS is very overrated in some rankings, especially
in rankings companies in Britain published. It is not among top universities in the world, but it is a top university in a country with a population of 3 millions. 0 Nobel Prize Winner,0 Pritzker Prize Winner, 0 Fields Medal winner.

for Nobel prizes in the region, Singapore is beaten by: Vietnam

and remember that the UK has a higher per-capita Nobel Prize rate than the US

in fact, even Ireland has a higher per-capita Nobel Prize rate than the US
