I have a recipe that calls for ascorbic powder but have no idea where to get it. This is Vitmain C right? I was thinking of crushing my vitamin c tablets into a powder and using that but it's orange flavored.
Do you know where I can find ascorbic powder? I only need max of 1 Tbsp. I tired the pharmacy but all of the Vitmain C that I found are favored and orange in color. Is there anything else I can use as a substitute that is easy to find here in Singapore?

One of the health food shops, they should have it in a powder form. I had some but I bought it in NZ, I used to sprinkle it on my dog's food - so it is available out there and was not flavoured. The shop in Tanglin mall seems to be well stocked with 'stuff' I'm sure they could help or point you in the right direction.
What are you making?

Thanks, will try that lead.
I'm trying 2 recipes that call for it. One is a corned beef recipe starting with a fresh brisket and the other is a bread recipe. I don't really know the purpose of the ascorbic powder so for all I know I may not even need it but I'd rather try the recipe as is before making any changes.

Why not use the syrup one? I think it'll work in replacement to powder, but choose the unflavored one so not to ruin the taste.
