Hi everyone! Does anyone know or even live in the new condo "The cascadia"? Looks very nice and we want to have a look at it on july when we arrive in singapore. It would be very great to get some information before - pros and cons - what to consider. Would be glad to get some helpful answers.

Was considering it as well, but instead went with older Sterling nearby.
Pros of Cascadia:
1) New 2) Most units have N-S view (no morning or eve sun). 3) Quite empty for now, can have the pool for yourself
Cons:
1) crowded, in the sense there is too little empty space to run around, all built up 2) pretty much surrounded by other condos all around, so the views are non-existent (except for two blocks in extreme north). 3) kitchens are tiny, with almost no cabinets 4) somehow apartments feel smaller than square footage suggests 5) still work in progress, workers are around 5) floridian condo nearby is still under construction

Hi,
we just decided to live there - we will move there in mid of June. What shall I say... Of course it is new and there are some workers around, but to be honest I have just been there 2 days ago (wed, thurs and Friday last week at different times) and it was not loud at all. We had a look at 4 bed, 4 bed plus study and 3 bed plus study appartments and decided for 3 bed plus study all the way back in the condo with a view in the greenery next to the tennis courts. As we are a family having 2 kids - the surrounding seems to be perfect to me - cold storage and fairprice in walking distance, as well as some food corners and even a pizza place. Bus connection in front of the nexus next door and good schools around. So it depends what your family situation looks like - we also had a look at various other places troughout singapore, but that was the perfect fit for us. One good things of a new condo - the prices are okay in comparison to oither already settled places and still negotiable.
Good luck, Tini

Thanks for the detailed answer! No one else who can tell me something about it - to get different opinions? We live not so far away and have watched in being built. I believe zvitali has given you the best list. The keys were only just handed to owners in January/February so it's really early to tell you what it's going to be like to live in. It's like a ghost town at the moment certainly. The percentage of apartments that have people inside is still in single figures.

Thanks for the answers! @Tini: We have also two kids (boys 5 and 3 years old). They will join the German School (GESS), so The Cascadia and The Nexus are the nearest new Condos. Cascadia looks very good and I think the boys would like the pool. Seems if there is a lot of space to run around. If you like to and have the time - it would be fantastic if you can write again, after you moved in.

Actually, the closest new condo to GESS is Park Natura, just across the road. I think pricing is around the same as Cascadia and it should be a fine time for you in July as they should TOP at the same time. If you want space then you have the Bkt Batok Nature Reserve a 5-min walk away.

Hi Even, thank you for the pointer. I just had a look at it - looks also nice! I forgot to write that the boys will go to the Main Campus of GESS at Bukit Tinggi Road.

Hi, are there any new informations about "The Cascadia". We will arrive in two weeks and will have a look at it. But perhaps it´s possible to get "live" informations before.

Hi,
we now live here for two weeks - container coming tomorrow. The Condo ist still quite empty - so you really can be on your own at the pool. People around are really friendly and helpful. Going by bus into the city, shopping at the super markets around - everything is fine - one issues is crossing the street with a stroller, but this is manageable. So if you wanna come around just ask at the management office for familiy Gommel coming from Germany.
All the best for you, Tini

Crossing the street? Are you in your right mind?? You cannot cross Bukit Timah/Dunearn. You have to use the overhead bridge. We haul our mountain bikes over that several times a week. It can be done. Or, walk to the next traffic light and then cross. Please don't attempt to walk across on the road.

Hello Tini, thanks for your offer. I think we will meet at the pool, because we are moving in next week . We also come from Germany and our condo is on the snake side of the kids pool. The boys love the place. Looking forward to meeting you! Greetings julyexpat

I love the Cascadia. Good value, great location and a design that turns heads. A great place to buy into. The pool is about the best I have seen in the new developments. Good Choice OP !!
