Did a search but all the posts are more than a year old.

Has anyone been to Genting Highlands recently?  Which hotels would you recommend? We are a family of four (4 and 12 yr old) . Would you recommend self-drive or the coach?  (We've never done either one so totally clueless).

Thanks!

All the hotels there are owned by the casino co- RW Genting. Most expensive is Highlands Hotel, cheapest is 1st World.

Go to Golden Mile at Beach Rd-there they have all the packages-coach, hotel etc.

Best of luck...

Self-drive is do-able, but make sure your car has enough horse-power - the winding hill-climbing can be tough on smaller cars. Beware if you make a killing at the casino - when you leave Genting Highlands, make sure that you do not stop your car if the car behind tries to bump you - they are after your winnings.

safer to take the coach i think. driving up can be really tiring (5-6 hrs) and requires a lot of concentration!  Undecided

You could fly to KL and hire a car from there - less driving, more awake for enjoying the highlands Smiley
