It looks like I am staying in sg for good after marrying a local girl.  3 kids in school.  3 properties.  2 businesses that is giving me around 1.5M of income (SGD).

So what now?  I am not into fast cars, both of mine are family specs.  I don't drink.  I don't invest (that much).

Any ideas for a mid lifer ?

Are your businesses taking up all of your time?  If not, you can carve out space and time to start a non-for-profit venture.  Guess it depends if you have any dreams to fulfill too.

3 properties worth $6 million, but with mortgage outstanding of $9 million.
2 businesses that are giving $1.5 million of income, but expenses of $2.5 million.

Looks like you need a corporate restructuring.

Plenty of SPGs looking for a middle aged white guy with a wife, 3 kids, 3 properties and a few million $ in spare change.

This will contradict kaki11's advice above.

Hi M&A,  thanks for the expert advice.  2 properties paid up.  One with a few hundred Ks to go but at this low interest rate, I am not in a hurry.  Business expense about 45k.  1.5M is pre-tax profits.  Will need structuring nevertheless - will give you a call.  : )

Any other non-SPG-related suggestions?  And also not interested in yachts, cigars, gadgets, watches ...

Hi 40something, work takes some but not all of my time.  Travel once in 2 or 3 weeks in the region.  I do get time with my kids and many dads envy me for that.  It is just that I do not see how I can commit myself to another big thing, for profit or otherwise.  But I am open to suggestions ...  Smiley
