How can I get my kids interested in science? Where can I buy test tubes and small equipmt in Singapore? Are there any homeschooling shops that might sell things for kids?

Try a visit to the Science Centre at Jurong - all sorts of interactive exhibitions plus the usual gift shop which stocks all kinds of science-type things

the Magic School Bus series, if you can find it in SG. fun, the chilf is part of the Science discovery journey. the series inspires and jumpstarts branching into other self-exploration.

zany Ms Frizzle and the kids present Science in an informative yet very fun way. DID help to instill no aversion to Science for mine. we owned every bk title out, and every related media source.

this series has easy-reader bks, chapter bks, interactive educational (Pangea puzzles) games and factual learning journeys for computer and dvds for tv-viewing. all kid-receptive.

i would hesitate to buy strictly Sc kits - those tend to gather dust unless the child is even remotely interested in the topic.

DD has been learning science on computer. Maybe you want to have a try, too. Pretty fun and she learns quickly. I registered a science pro on beestar, a lovely website offering grade for kids. The worksheets are full of all real life world problems, challenging stuff to help kids thinking. It helps a lot!
