investor,

I would stick with something relatively 'blue-collar' that is NOT a restaurant or a massage joint.

Here are some ideas:

*Shop specializing in collectibles
*FX/Currency conversion stall
*Travel/tourism related enterprise

A good wholesome place to get decent western breakfast, not the over the top "poached eggs with ricotta and marinated onion puree" type.

Good freshly baked bread and fluffy pancakes with fresh fruit (FRESH fruit, not the strawberries with rounded edges and soggy old crapes), eggs benedict that have not been drowned in vinegar to poach them and real waffles without fake whip cream.

Let me know when you open and I will be your loyal customer forever.

pp,

I get your concept, but not sure if the market is right for this type of place at that particular location....perhaps if you changed it to some kind of Japanese food then you're on to something!

Thank you Vulcan! your input has significantly contributed in developing my business ideas. I was thinking some kind of restaurant..or maybe toy stores like war hammer etc. I dont know, but I shall see, will take a trip down and really have a look.

All has been done to death. Food, electronics, cheapo trashy shops, tourist junk, designer etc.  Mall upon mall upon mall of it and streets & streets of yet more malls.

Then when you get home in the evening theres even more malls, stalls and pasar malams in case you havent had enough in town.

Theres no running away from retail therapy.  Its under your nose night & day, day & night.  Spend spend spend those $$, own more & more, then when your apartments too small to hold all the useless things you bought, start stacking them on top of wardrobes then when they hit the ceilings, start stacking them outside for the neighbours to trip over.

So many shops, but I still have to buy so many things directly from overseas...

I apologize, that was uncalled for. My tenant called my bluff and now I have to lower his rent Sad

if you are owning the space, just put up a 'for rent' sign and let the tenant decide the kind of business.

why do you want to own and worry about running the biz as well?
