Hello, can anyone advise the statute of limitations in Singapore for credit card debt? Is it 6 years like the UK which SG law is based on?

Helllp,

It is unlikely that a statute of limitations exists at all.  Your best course of action is to contact your creditors directly and work something out with them.  This may be of help:

A lot of questions recently about people who have left with CC debts and are now concerned as they might have to visit the place or return for work.

A lot of people probably tell themselves they will sort it after they leave and do not pay it off before they depart Singapore but when they get overseas it is out of sight out of mind. I can see how this would happen so do not want to be too harsh.

Its one reason I am paying my CC cards off over the next two months even though I hope I am not leaving anytime soon - interest on them is the main reason though.

In Dubai, the expats when they fled the crisis didnt bother paying off anything.  They dumped their Mercs & BMW's at the airport with the keys inside and disappeared off into the sunset.  There was never any comebacks.  You can get a near new BMW there for $5k.  Mind you what good is a cheap BMW and a cheap apartment if the place is going under.

There is a master plan, but its not in our interest.

There was a thread on nagtroc about some conspiracy theory about a one world bank... anyone remember that thread? Im not saying i believe it, but its not that far fetched.

Exists. Head Office Tel Aviv.
