Wondering if anyone could tell me if €11000 a month, gross, for a senior managment position is a good salary in Munich. Would need to cover rent, car, schooling (int) etc. Would u move for that?

No idea if that is good but I do know that Munich International School has an excellent reputation.  There is a good forum, similar to this where people will happily answer your questions. I got  a lot of help when we were considering a move there several years ago.  Google 'toytown munich' to find it.

You're using a messageboard for expats in Singapore to ask about salaries in Munich.  Great plan, Stan.

There are a lot of Germans here, and people from all over the world that might have lived and worked in Germany.  It's a good start.

I think I once saw someone on this message board ask about living and working in Nigeria, and got several replies from people that had done so.

I'm sure there are lots of Germans in Australia, HK, UK, U.S. and dozens of other countries.  Perhaps the OP should go to expat message*** in those countries as well, and ask for advice on salaries in Germany?

Madness.

So all the people that ask for advice on this forum about moving to another country are doing it wrong? Forgive me but I don't have a copy of your book: Rules for the S'pore Forum by WTF?!?

Hi OP

This is a singapore expat board, and in "about us" you will see it says "Expat Singapore started in September 1997 with the aim of providing a one-stop online information resource for the large expatriate community, for both the ones already living in Singapore, as well as those about to make the move or considering it."

I find it hard to believe that anyone would assume this is a natural place to ask for advice on salaries in Munich.  Personally, as someone else has already suggested, I'd go to a similar resource with a German connection.

You're good with the smart remarks and insults without actually addressing why a messageboard set up in Singapore for expats already here, or about to move here, would be a natural place to ask questions about salaries in Munich.

I see no problem with asking questions on a global scale here. Almost all of us have lived in different places and may have something to offer the OP. The main question here is why you are so exercised by this.

Well the OP got the name of the expat board - it took me hours to find it when I was searching for it as it's not an obvious name.  If nothing else his/her post yielded some success so wasn't a complete waste of time.  I reckon it's a good idea to ask everyone and everywhere; sometimes you find info in surprising places.  Agree with PP - nothing lost except some energy typing the question and moving the mouse.

This was meant for the not so "nice" poster, who is in a lather because the OP had the temerity to ask a question about salaries in Munich on this b.o.a.r.d..

Might be worth dropping in to the Paulaner Brewhouse for some skinny on salaries back in ze vaterland.

Be prepared to buy a few rounds of steins before pumping for information though...or pump a few steins before rounding up informers.
